Start with the right dimensions
Do not make the image much larger than it needs to be. Oversized files waste space and tiny files can look blurry when stretched.
Keep the aspect ratio
If you change width and height without keeping the ratio, the image can look stretched or squashed.
Choose the right output format
- JPG works well for photos
- PNG works well for graphics and transparent assets
- WebP is often a great balance between size and quality
Use compression carefully
Very low quality settings can create visible artifacts. If the image is important, use a balanced setting first and compare the result.
